When he was a child, Jon discovered the past of his father, Iñaki Viar, as member of ETA. Son, grandson and great-grandson of Basque nationalists, Iñaki was arrested in 1969 and sentenced to twenty years in prision. Years later he organized the escape from Segovia jail and, finally, in 1977 with the coming of the democracy in Spain, he regained his freedom. Iñaki, like many other prisoners, denies nationalism and condemns terrorist violence. Jon, a movie fan, tries to understand his father’s past while living with attacks, kidnappings and many silences. By then, Iñaki is already considered a ‘traitor’ by the nationalist world.
